Most poured-concrete foundations have some hairline cracks. They become a problem when they leak water, keep getting wider, or one side of the crack is pushed out further than the other.

Request a call backWhen to call a pro
- Water or damp staining along a crack
- A crack wider than about a pencil lead, or one that’s growing
- Horizontal cracks or walls bowing inward, which can be structural and need an expert look soon
- Stair-step cracks in block walls
How leaking cracks are usually fixed
For poured walls, contractors commonly inject the crack from the inside with epoxy or polyurethane, which fills it through the wall’s full thickness. Bowing walls or major movement are a different, structural repair, and may need an engineer’s opinion.
