Basement Waterproofing FAQ

Who actually does the work?

WMass Waterproofing is a referral service. We connect you with an independent local contractor that serves your town. They inspect, quote and do the work directly with you.

Does it cost anything to send a request?

No. Sending a request is free and you’re under no obligation to hire anyone.

How much does waterproofing cost?

National data puts full waterproofing between about $6,000 and $18,000. Smaller fixes like a sump pump or one crack cost much less. See the cost guide.

Can I fix it myself?

Some things, yes: clean gutters, extend downspouts, regrade soil away from the house, and test your sump pump. Persistent leaks, cracks that are growing, or bowing walls need a professional.

Is a white powder on my basement walls a problem?

That’s usually efflorescence: minerals left behind as water passes through masonry. It’s a sign moisture is moving through the wall, so it’s worth finding the source.

Which towns do you cover?

Springfield and nearby towns including:
